Nick has a passion from Agri-business, which stems from being born, and bred on a farm. Nick is not just accountancy trained; he also has practical experience managing one of New Zealand’s largest Maori Agribusinesses, Wairarapa Moana Incorporation - a combination of forestry and dairy farms situation in the Central North Island which consisted of 12,500 hectares and employing 80 staff. Nick managed WMI for five years while taking a break from public practice accountancy to grow his business management skills.

Hayley has worked at BFA since 2012 and is a qualified Accounting Technician and Member of CAANZ. She has incredible attention to detail when dealing with the IRD, GST, Tax and preparation of Financial Statements. Hayley is one of our experts in Xero and Xero Payroll, provides training and works closely with many of our clients with their day to day administration management of their small businesses. Hayley has an excellent knowledge in the Retail & Hospitality industries having previously had work experience in these areas. Outside of work, Hayley plays squash, gardens and spends time with her four legged family members.

Rebekah Coker

Rotorua born and raised, Bex started her accounting journey working for a small local Chartered Accountancy firm as an office administrator in 2012 which allowed her to grasp basic practical knowledge of accounting whilst completing her studies part-time at Toi Ohomai - where she was able to learn the theory side of accounting. This helped her to confidently transition in to more of an accounting based role where she has been since. Prior to joining the team at BFA, Bex was working with Maori entities and incorporations at Deloitte and GHA. Bex is very passionate about embracing the importance of developing and maintaining honest relationships with her clients and colleagues and believes that success is a journey, not a destination.

Daleen and her husband have moved up the ranks in the Dairy Industry where they are dairy farming just outside of Taupo. Daleen’s prior work experience involved working as an Accounts Administrator for a large corporate farming organisation. She is experienced with Xero, Figured and BankLink software and we are lucky to have another member in the Agribusiness team with hands on farming knowledge.

With longevity in this field and a positive outlook, she brings a fresh perspective to her clients and relishes the challenges that accounting offers. Ann embraces the variety and stimulation her job offers; interacting with clients and assisting them with their financial tasks. She values the faith her clients place in her to oversee their accounting needs and being able to unburden them of any concerns in this regard. Outside of work, Ann and her husband are keen travelers and enjoying exploring the country whilst pursing their cycling and walking interests. She enjoys pilates, attending musical theatre shows and spending time with family.

Before joining BFA in March 2019, Jeff has had experience as an internal accountant in various industries such as beer manufacturing, cargo forwarding, loan financing, and construction. He also has knowledge in various accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, PeachTree, Quickbooks and Xero. He now leads the offshore BFA team in the Philippines that provides support to the offices in Taupo and Rotorua.

When Jeff's not at work he enjoys time cooking for his family. He also likes to watch TV and play video games with his three kids.

Rejina Miranda

Rejina started working for BFA after passing the board exam for licensed accountants in the Philippines. Now with BFA for two years, she considers herself experienced with Xero and NZ accounting as she prepares tax returns and annual accounts for clients. In her spare time, she loves to watch crime drama and thriller shows. She also plans to pursue a career in law as part of her post-graduate studies.

One of the highlights of Joanne’s job are the smiles and appreciation she sees on her clients’ faces when she’s helped them out. As well as enjoying mountain biking and walking in the beautiful forest areas surrounding Rotorua, she’s a stock car enthusiast along with the rest of her family.

Nicole Wells

Having grown up on a farm in Mangakino, Nicole went on to achieve a Bachelor of Applied Management (Accounting) from the Ara Institute of Canterbury in 2019. Since then she has worked for two large accounting firms as well as a legal firm where she specialised in trust management.

Nicole joined BFA in 2021, and is working primarily with the agribusiness team. She has a sound knowledge of Xero and Xero applications, and how technology can help a business. She enjoys meeting clients to better understand clients business and helping them achieve their goals.

Frank Beker

Michelle has been working in the accounting support space for the past year. Prior to joining the team Michelle worked in a variety of different roles that gives her a wide background to call upon. Previous experience includes a sole charge office management role, accounts, payroll administration and banking and finance. She enjoys the variety of tasks that she is able to sink her teeth into in an accountancy environment, having previously completed a Diploma in Accounting. During her free time Michelle practices yoga and meditation, hiking in the outdoors and appreciates interior design.

Claire has been with BFA for 9 years and is responsible for the preparation and reports of all records received from clients for accounting to process. Liaising with the Inland Revenue Department and ACC for any issues that may require sorting out for our clients. Claire also assists with the introduction of New Clients to BFA and maintaining of the BFA Database.

I have been with BFA for 5 years as a Client Support Manager. I really enjoy being part of the Team. I am involved with the introduction of New Clients to BFA and maintaining of the BFA Database. I prepare the records received from client for accounting to process. I liaising with the Inland Revenue Department and ACC on any issues that may require completing for our clients.

Elizabeth Eden

Elizabeth (Liz) has been with BFA since 2019, coming to us from many years of running her own businesses in the hotel and catering sectors specialising in events weddings, conferences, groups. Prior to this, Liz had experience in sales and marketing in the hospitality industry in the Central North Island. Liz has an extensive background in MYOB and is well up to speed with Xero bookkeeping and payroll activities. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her kids and in the outdoors - running, hiking, mountain biking, and time at the family farm.

Cheyenne Edelsten

Cheyenne joined the BFA team in April 2020, having worked for Deloitte Rotorua in the Tax and Private team working with a variety of Maori sector clients including large trusts, developments and payroll compliance. Cheyenne also has an extensive background in hospitality where she worked while completing a Diploma in Accounting and Diploma in Business Studies. Cheyenne is skilled in Xero and Xero Payroll and loves working as part of a team to provide the best results for all clients.

Stephanie Carroll

Stef joined BFA in April 2021, and brings a wealth of experience to the Agri Business team. Stef is highly skilled in Xero, PaySauce and Figures having worked for many years in office administration in many different farming businesses. Alongside this, Stef has past dairy farming experience and is now grazing a block of land with her family which also hosts a farm-stay business.

She has a wide range of experience in administration and is enjoying being part of the BFA Team and supporting the Directors and senior staff.

Vanessa White

HR MANAGER

Vanessa first started with BFA in 2003 and has recently returned after a period of “family growth”. During her time at BFA, Vanessa has worked in the area of Human Resources, predominantly as a consultant. Vanessa is able to assist our clients with employment law advice, preparation of employment and contractor agreements, payroll advice, recruitment, dispute management and any other HR issues.

Vanessa also assists BFA with our internal administration and Companies Office work.

Outside of work, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family, mountain biking and generally enjoying the outdoors.

Kristen Wilson

A marketer for over 20 years, Kristen has worked in a broad array of marketing, communication and media roles which enables her to provide a diversified approach to marketing. At BFA Kristen is responsible for our BFA brand, any marketing campaigns or external communication along with our internal communication.

Kristen has built up her marketing skill set and leadership skills through working for international brands Goldman Sachs, American Express, IAG, QBE Insurance and well known New Zealand brands Spark, AA Insurance and Yellow Pages Group. She has also worked with many SME’s to provide cost effective marketing plans and works through to implementing these for businesses.
