Opening the Door to the World of Accounting
At BFA, we’re proud to support local students through the Gateway Programme – a fantastic initiative that helps young people gain real-world experience in industries they’re curious about. For us, that means giving students a taste of what it's like to work in a modern, client-focused accountancy firm right here in Taupō.
This year, we’ve welcomed not one, but two students from Taupo-nui-a-Tia College as part of the programme. The first student joined us earlier in the year, and our second student has just finished her five-week placement with us.
By shadowing our team across different areas of the practice, from business advisory to admin and everything in between, the students received a broad view of the work we do and the people behind it. It’s all about helping them see the bigger picture, ask questions, and build confidence as they explore their career options.
We love being part of this community-focused initiative. Supporting the next generation and opening doors to future opportunities is something we care deeply about. It’s also a great chance for our team to share knowledge, connect, and reflect on the journey we’ve each taken into the profession.
