2025 recipient for the BFA annual accounting scholarship announced

The 2025 recipient for the BFA annual accounting scholarship has recently been announced as Joshua Turner,  a year 12 accounting student at Taupo-nui-a-Tia College.

BFA have been proud sponsors of the Year 12 Accounting Scholarship for the past three years. The award, presented at the Taupo-nui-a-Tia College Senior Prizegiving, recognises and celebrates the hard work, dedication, and excellence that the College's young people demonstrate throughout the year.

Below is the citation from this years recipient Joshua's teacher:

“I'm delighted to confirm that Josh Turner was awarded the 2025 BFA Accounting Scholarship at our recent Prizegiving. This is a well-deserved recognition of his dedication and promise in both Accounting and Economics.

I’d also like to share that during our Parent-Teacher interview earlier this term, I mentioned to Josh’s parents that he was one of the top contenders for the Accounting and Economics scholarship. They were genuinely excited and hopeful, and Josh followed up with me twice this term to ask whether a recipient had been finalized. It’s clear how much this opportunity means to them, and I know they’ll be incredibly proud of his achievement.

My sincere thanks to the BFA team for your generous sponsorship and continued support of our students. Opportunities like this make a meaningful difference in their academic journey and future careers. Taupo-nui-a-Tia College students are truly fortunate to have your support, and we look forward to continuing this valuable partnership.

We are grateful for your continued support of our students and our school community. Your contribution helps inspire our learners to strive for excellence and to live out our school values in all that they do."

Joshua was presented the award by past Taupo-nui-a-Tia College student, and current BFA employee, Luke Steyn.

A big congratulations to Joshua from the team here at BFA.

Feb 2026 Update

Josh popped into the Agri Office earlier this month for a chat with Nick and Luke and to express his gratitude for the scholarship he received. He's looking forward to his year ahead at Taupo-nui-a-Tia College, and is planning to continue his studies at uni in 2027.

Nick reminded him that if he ever has questions about Uni or a future in accounting, we’re always here to help.

He also brought in a box of choccies for the team!

Kim Manunui

Hi, I’m Kim and I work with a great team to help individuals, as well as small and not so small businesses get their message, product and services to the world using digital media and creating wonderful websites that don’t cost the earth.

I was born in Canada, and grew up around Vancouver and the mountains of British Columbia. My love of pristine environments led me to New Zealand and eventually to the mountains, lakes and rivers of the central North Island which is home. My family’s heritage is here, and it’s from here that Korio traverses the planet.

The digital world is never static and neither are we.

And I say ‘we’ because I work with an awesome group of talented people who I gather together as required to complete a project.  Whatever your business, not-for-profit or individual needs are we gather the best team to get the job done.

Collaboratively we are creative, share sustainable values and work hard for great outcomes because that’s the buzz of satisfaction that drives us.

If you have an audience and market to reach, we can make that happen. Creative design, words that work and smart behind the scenes stuff that cuts through the online noise. We’ll design your website and then build it. We’ll manage the content as well as all your hosting needs. We can handle your online advertising so you get noticed,
and we’ll manage your social media presence so you get the clicks, likes and engagement to grow your business. All within the budget you set, because none of this needs to cost the earth.  And the job doesn’t stop when your website goes live. We are your virtual business partner.
